People do not make decisions in isolation. Equipment design, workload, supervision, procedures, time pressure, communication and previous experience can all influence workplace behaviour.

For that reason, a useful approach to behaviour-based safety should go beyond simply labelling actions as safe or unsafe. This programme looks at how organisations can encourage positive behaviour while also recognising the workplace and system factors that influence employee choices.
